Happy Birthday Annette!!

Happy Birthday Mrs. Christensen!!

I remember the time that every one else on the ranch was gone for the day. Annette and I hooked up the little red wagon to the grey ferguson tractor and pulled each other around for several hours. That was a fun day! (I'm glad we didn't get injured)

Let's Talk About Mom.

What do you remember about Mom?
I think Mom was so wonderful because you could always trust her judgement. If you have any special stories or pictures let's post them and have a discussion about her.

Grandpa's visitors

Well I am an official contributor. Heather sent me this photo of her and Yvette's visit over New Years with Dad. They enjoyed their afternoon talking with him and taking him to lunch at Arby's.
Hopefully this is one of many posts for me. I look forward to reading all of yours.

Touch and Go!

Dad is struggling again. He has had a fever today of about 101. When he gets sick like this he doesn't have the strength to get up. He is slowing down and having a difficult time with walking. His energy is not was it was a few months ago. He has a strong desire to keep going. He gets along as best he can. He tries to do whatever he can for himself. He seems a lot more grateful than he was a few months ago. He now realizes that he needs the help and is glad to have it. Delila came by this week which brightened up his day. Annette called and talked to him for a few minutes. This is all very helpful and makes his boring days a little more bearable. The weather is getting better. If it warms up we will try to take him out more. That is about it for now.

Doing Better.

Dad has been doing better the last few days. He is moving slower, but he has been able to get himself dressed and make it up the stairs. His temp is normal and his strength has come back. Most of the silly dimensia is under control. (He is living in reality) So in that respect it is quite enjoyable to talk to him. He is bored and needs someone to come and visit. Winston is coming on the Feb 29 Week End to watch him while we take a long week end. We appreciate their help.

I have sent out invitations for each of the siblings to participate on the blog. You don't have to post, but I would appreciate an acknowledgement that you know where the blog is. This is where I am posting info about Dad.

Rough times in Layton

With a temperature of 102.8, Dad wasn't doing well yesterday. I had to stay home and force liquids and anti-inflammatories down him. It was a bit scary because he couldn't get up. (When you go to the bathroom as much as he does, that's big!) Anyway, we got his temp down to normal and he is better this morning. He was able to stand while I gave him a shower and he made it upstairs to get his breakfast. Temp this morning was 98.0. My medical knowledge was increased by the experience. I now know what the funny looking bottle is used for.

Annette's grandkids

Just wanted to post a couple of pictures of my grandkids. These are actually found on Jessica's Blog that she just started. The first pic is Daphne and Naomi. Jessica wanted to take them sledding but did not have a sled so she took a wheel barrel apart and tied a rope to it. Pretty ingenious I would say. Anyway they went sledding on some sand dunes near their house in Tri Cities. We do not get much snow here but last week end it dumped about 10 inches. Most is it is gone now. The other picture is Daphne and Brenna (Tony's daughter) with their snowman.

Keagan receives award

On January 24th we were in Reno at the Safari Club International convention. Keagan was chosen as the Young Hunter of the Year for 2008 and he received his award at a banquet which about 3000 people were in attendance. He had to give a short speech and he recieved a trophy of a bronze deer and a $500 gift certificate from Cabelas. He was pretty excited and nervous but he delivered his speech well and we were very proud parents.
This blogging thing is a great idea and can be a great way to see what we are all doing.
Thanks Matt for getting this started.
